Do you love a smoker ?
If you know someone that would like to quit smoking
and are not sure how to help; here are a few
suggestions for you.



From the Fit and Free Smoking Cessation Program (NY)


  1. Take your future non smoker to dinner, coffee, a
    movie or perhaps a sports event.

  2. Fix a favorite meal.

  3. Listen. It can help a smoker calm down when upset.

  4. Offer a massage.

  5. Give a hug or show caring in some other way, even
    when it has nothing to do with smoking.

  6. Fill a jar with cigarette substitues like gum, coffee
    stir sticks, worry beads etc.

  7. If you smoke, don't do it when the quitter has to be
    around it. (in the car, over dinner)

  8. Find low calorie recipies.

  9. Send a note or flowers when the going gets tough.
