Hi: My name is Lacy and I'm 44 years old.
I've been smoking 30 years:( I've quit seven times;
cold turkey, for a year each time. I quit because I was
pregnant/nursing, due to a religious experience, and once
I quit because I was disgusted with it. The cost of smoking
is so high. Unfortunately, I resumed smoking due to some
crisis in my life. Cigarettes were my crutch, calmed my
nerves, helped me deal with things (or so I thought). Now,
I have Type II diabetes, and asthma (related to smoking),
and I MUST quit before it kills me!
I'm so hooked on menthol cigarettes, it scares me...
I need all the moral support I can get:) My doctor has
prescribed the Nicotrol Inhaler for me to try...but it may
make the asthma worse (asthma patients aren't suppose
to use it). I can't take Zyban because of other medications
I have to take. I can't use nicotine gum because I have too
much dental work ( the gum deteriorates it). The Patch is
out, too. So, I've got to mostly use will power and group
support...I can't afford hypnotists or psychiatrists. I want
to quit so I can breathe easier, have more energy, save
money, and stop washing the dang wallpaper all the
time! Together we can all breathe fresh air,
